David, a Marist Brother, is the foundation Dean of the La Salle Academy at the Australian Catholic University (ACU). La Salle has responsibility for programs that the university offers in the areas of Educational Leadership, Faith Formation and Religious Education. He took up this position after thirty years in Catholic education. He worked in both primary and secondary schools, single-sex and coeducational, systemic and congregational. He held positions as teacher, Religious Education Coordinator, Deputy Principal and Principal. He also spent time as Executive Director of the Marist Ministries Office - responsible for governance and animation of Marist schools and other ministries.
David undertook his undergraduate studies in education at ACU. His postgraduate work has been in the area of theology with a masters degree from the Catholic Institute of Sydney and a doctorate from the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago USA. His doctoral thesis - Forming Catholic School Leaders: Friends of a Compelling God - has been the basis of many of the presentations he gives across the Catholic sector. He teaches in the MEdL program at ACU.
David continues his work involved in the governance of Marist ministries, is a member of the Loreto Kirribilli School Board and also a member of the Diocese of Parramatta , Catholic Schools Mission Committee and the National Catholic Education Commission Faith Formation and Religious Education Committee.
He has recently concluded the leadership of a team that delivered a formation program for leaders in Catholic schools across twenty-two countries in Africa.
